Application
Performance Abrasive 2 has been specially designed for extended running time to enable the operator to achieve enhanced an enhanced cutting action without drying out, to give a unique final depth of gloss. Extended running time makes it the general purpose compound of choice for use with either white foam or lambswool pads (where increased scratch removal is required). Its new lubricant system adds a smoother feel to the extended life of the pad, either foam or lambswool. The product removes scratches rather than of hiding imperfections with cosmetic oils to avoid costly rework. It is suitable for use on all automotive paint systems including water based, HS and MS, infrared and accelerator cured paints, 1K and 2K, acrylic, cellulose, synthetic and OEM finishes including nano ceramic clear coats.
Instructions
- Apply a small amount of Performance Abrasive 2 to the paint surface (use minimum amount to cover the required area).
- Work the surface with medium pressure until scratches and imperfections are removed.
- Reduce pressure as the pad begins to move freely to allow polishing action to take place.
- When finished, remove any residue and buff the surface with a clean, soft cloth.
- For additional gloss if required follow Performance Glaze
Do not over apply or use excessive compound.
On soft or sensitive paint, or where heat build-up may be a problem, the addition of water mist to avoid any friction burn, particularly with new pads may assist in the polishing process.
However, avoid unnecessary excessive water.
Once a new pad is activated with water no additional water needs to be used once the pad has been impregnated with product.
