Application
NST Rapid Sand is an easy-to-use non-styrene (NST) putty.
The product is characterised by a creamy texture and easy sanding without clogging the sandpaper. It is suitable for filling dents and other imperfections on all sheet metal surfaces, including zinc-coated and aluminum.
Why NST? Styrene is a volatile organic compound (VOC) that can be harmful when inhaled, causing respiratory issues, headaches and other health problems. Styrene-free putties such as NST Rapid Sand reduce these risks, creating a safer working environment for bodyshop professionals.
Available in 1 kg tins and 1.5 kg cartridges.
Instructions
- The surface must be clean, dry, degreased and matted (P80 – P120).
- Mix the putty and 2 – 3 % (by weight) hardener thoroughly to a homogeneous colour.
- Apply within 4 – 6 minutes at 20 °C.
- The putty can be sanded approx. 30 minutes after application (dry sanding with P120 – P240)
The hardening process is accelerated by heat and retarded by cold. Use below 10 °C not recommended.
