Application
These drills are suitable for alloyed and unalloyed steel with a tensile strength up to 1000N/mm², stainless steel V2A and V4A, steel high-alloyed, cementation steel
Standard drills have a central section that doesn’t actually cut resulting in increased effort and time. The Split Point design cuts to the center, reducing wear on the cutting edge and saving time and effort.
The Split Point cutting edge reduces swarf build by breaking the swarf into small pieces (instead of long pieces) this allows the chips to be easily removed and avoids the dangerous swarf build-up common with traditional drills. This also results in a better finish.
Re-grinding a drill can be a time consuming process and a skill less common in todays workshops. The cobalt alloy will out last a standard Hss drill by up to ten times when used correctly.
