Application
This high-quality putty is especially suitable for repairing and filling of large holes and damages in interior and exterior timber (e.g. doors, window frames, …) as well as for bonding wooden parts during partial renovations and as a waterproof protective layer to surfaces. Due to the texture, vertical applications are also possible, yet it remains easy to shape. Despite the high mechanical strength, a certain degree of flexibility remains, which prevents subsequent cracking. The simple application with a cartridge gun enables precise dosing and clean working. It is also ideal for repairs to concrete, stone, metal, various plastics and PUR rigid foam.
Instructions
1.Damaged
wood must be removed and old layers of paint sanded off.
2.It
must be ensured that the surface to be treated is sound, dry, dust-,dirt- and
grease-free.
3.Determine
the wood moisture content (≤ 18%)
4.Use
the TimberRepair
Primer if necessary.
5.Dispense
both components (mixing ratio 1:1) in the required amount with a caulking gun.
6.Mix
the two components onto a mixing pat until a uniform, homogeneous paste color
has been achieved ( consider the processing time).
7.When
both components are well mixed, spread the paste thinly and smoothly on the
mixing pad to maintain the correct open time.
8.First
apply a thin layer of putty covering the repair area (observe the application
temperature).
9.Afterwards,
fill the repair area completely with the levelling compound, taking care not to
introduce any air pockets.
10.Use a
modelling knife or spatula to smooth off the paste tightly and gently.
11.After
approx. 8h it can be sanded and painted.
