Application

Multipurpose Dye is a unique formulation, designed to locate leaks in fuel systems, engines, gearboxes, differentials, power steering and hydraulic systems (Not Brake systems).

Instructions

Fuel Leaks
Add Multipurpose dye to the fuel, preferably before topping up with more fuel to cause the product to mix. Start the engine and allow to idle. Check all components with the UV lamp to locate the leak area
1. Add 1 oz. (30 ml) for every 4 gallons (15 L) of fuel.
2. Road test to allow dye to mix in and penetrate leak.
3. Inspect system with an ultraviolet light. Wear protective UV enhancing glasses. Leak will fluoresce brightly at source
Oil Leaks
To locate oil leaks in engine, transmission, rear axle and power steering systems simply add Multipurpose dye in to the oil, and run the system until leaks are evident under UV light. In transmissions or rear axles, drive the vehicle for a short while to allow the oil/dye mix to circulate before stopping and investigating all possible leak areas with the UV lamp.
In engine oil and hydraulic fluid
1. Add 1 oz. (30 ml) for every 4.7 L of engine/lube oil.
2. Run engine/road test to allow dye to mix in and penetrate leak.
3. Inspect system with an ultraviolet light. Wear protective UV enhancing glasses. Leak will fluoresce brightly at source
In transmission fluid & power steering fluid
1. Add 1 oz. (30 ml) for every 7.5 L of fluid.
2. Run engine/road test to allow dye to mix in and penetrate leak.
3. Inspect system with an ultraviolet light. Wear protective UV enhancing glasses. Leak will fluoresce brightly at source.
