Application

KENT Stainless HCR contains stainless steel pigments, which makes it ideal for protecting surfaces that are susceptible to corrosion.
It provides excellent resistance and protection against weather, sunlight, oil and water.
Stainless HCR can be sprayed onto a wide variety of metals for surface protection. It is also suitable for recovering or retouching stainless steels.
Typical applications are marine, highway and agricultural equipment, paper mills, boiler repairs, water meters, completed welds, nuts and bolts, oven doors, stoves, tanks and hot steam valves.

Instructions

1. Clean surface to be treated to remove contamination.
2. Shake well, until the agitator begins to rattle. Continue to shake for at least 1 minute.
3. Spray directly onto the surface.
4. After use, invert can and spray to clear the valve.
Painting

1.Hold can approximately 15 - 20 cm from the panel.
2.Apply product to panel to give a light dust coating, using a steady movement of the can with an overlapping spray action.
3.Allow 1 - 2 minutes between coats dependent on ambient conditions.
4.Shake the can between coats. The second coat can be applied more heavily, building up in required areas. Please note that due to the fast drying time of this product, if too heavy a coat is applied then it is possible for solvent to become trapped between coats, causing paint defects at a later stage.
5.To achieve a fast finish, it is imperative that 3 - 4 lighter coats are applied as opposed to 1 - 2 heavy coats. Heavy coats will trap solvent and considerably slow down the curing process. In most cases, for a keyed panel 3 coats should be sufficient. It is recommended that coat depth does not exceed 100 - 120 micron for best results including best time for repair completion.
6.It is possible to build very heavy coats but this is only advised in small local areas for pit filling, due to extended drying times required.
7.It is also important to invert can after application of a coat spray briefly to clear the spray head.
Flatting
1.Flatting in preparation for final colour coating can be with either dry paper or wet and dry (P320 or finer).
2. After flatting, use KENT Acrysol or panel wipe to clean and degrease surface in preparation for overcoating.
Due to the high solid contents the product must be thoroughly shaken to release the balls and mix the contents before spraying.
If a thick/heavy coverage is required, this is best achieved by building up the coverage with more coats of a regular thickness as opposed to fewer but heavy coats. Allowing the coats to flash off before applying the next coat will allow solvent to dissipate from the product, and not become trapped between layers.
