Application

KENT Butyl HT will adhere to clean, dry, dust and grease free substrates including aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel, Zinc, copper, brass, powder coated metal, most lacquered metal surfaces, glass, PVC, Polyester (GRP), painted and lacquered wood, etc.
It is not suitable for polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE.
Typical applications for KENT Butyl HT are:
Sealing of grooves.
Sealing of edge-to-edge joints.
Sealing in caravans, buses, campers and trucks.
Sealing of overlapping and connecting joints in the building industry.
Sealing of metal joints in ventilation systems, motor vehicles, containers and machine construction sectors.
For bedding and sealing between window frames (metal wood) and masonry.
Sealing between pre-fabricated components.
For metal sheet flashing around chimneys.
For installation and glazing work and for all type of building components.

Instructions

1. Surfaces should be cleaned, dry, dust and grease free.
2. Apply Butyl HT using a KENT hand or air caulking gun. When using compressed air, 3 - 5 bar are required.
3. Generously fill grooves and points to be sealed avoiding air bubbles. Slight shrinkage might occur due to solvent evaporation.
4. Butyl HT can be smoothed over using a spatula wetted in ordinary washing up liquid. The skin forms within 1 - 2 hours. The hardening takes 2 - 3 days, depending on the volume of the groove.
